ABE is a professional management qualification and one of the most flexible and dynamic programmes of study awarded internationally.
The ABE programme provides a professional qualification that may be used to prepare directly for a career in business, or to gain advanced entry onto a range of professional qualifications and university degrees. The programme provides students with an appreciation of the theoretical issues currently involved in the study of business and a range of practical skills which will enhance their value to potential employers.

Entry Requirements:
Diploma (Level 4)
Candidates of all educational backgrounds are welcome. However, it is strongly recommended that candidates attain Level 2 qualifications (GCSE standard) in Mathematics and English Language, or demonstrate competence through an alternative qualification of similar standard.
Higher Diploma (Level 5)
Applicants must have obtained one of the following:
- an ABE Certificate
- Two level 3 passes (‘A’ level standard)
In addition, ABE welcomes applications for student membership from intending diploma candidates who, although not holding a formal entry qualification, have been in appropriate employment for at least two years. A signed reference letter from employers must accompany all such applications. ABE reserves the right to reject such qualifications if they are deemed to have insufficient subject relationship.
Graduate Diploma (Level 6)
Applicants must have obtained one of the following:
- ABE NQF Diploma or ABE QCF Level 5 Diploma
- A UK Degree or overseas equivalent
- Other level 5 qualifications from another internationally recognised awarding body or approved overseas Institutes of Higher Education
